Simple DIY Water Bottle Retention System

Hey friends! I hope you are doing well! In this video I show a water bottle retention system that you can make easily and cheaply. It will help you carry a water bottle on your person or your pack when you are trying to travel light.

All you need is six things:
1) a heavy-duty o-ring that will fit over the top of a standard soda bottle—the stronger and less flexible the better (you want to have to muscle it onto the bottle);
2) roughly 3′ of paracord;
3) a carabiner;
4) a light-weight (when filled) water or soda bottle;
5) a cutting tool;
6) a lighter to burn the paracord tips.

Connect the carabiner to the o-ring with a short strip (1.5 – 2 inches) of Solomon Bar knotting. Here is a good video on how to make a Solomon Bar bracelet . . . it is the same basic concept:

Slip the o-ring over the cap lip and hang it from a belt or MOLLE. Enjoy!
