This is Oreo my 7 month old “Shorgi” pup. Saturday April the 27th he contracted the Parvo virus and was very sick. His illness came at a bad time as i am aware just how pricy vet care can be to treat Parvo. So i created my own home remedy and within in two days he was back up and running ! Remember this is just a home remedy and not a cure or replacement for professional vet care. I am NOT a vet , I am however a certified Pharmacy Tech so do have a pretty good idea how these medications will work and affect my pet. If you need more information on what Canine parvo virus is please check the wikipedia link below. I will also provide a list of the ingredients used and form of administration along with dosage. Keep in mind all dogs are different and larger breeds will require a bit more dosage in order to take effect but DO NOT over do it ! I uploaded my first video since i feel this may help many that may be in the situation i was in. We all love our pets and the last thing we want to do is stand there and watch them slowly slip away I apologize for the bad quality and my mumbling but this is my first video so please go easy on me ..LOL Feel free to ask questions and i will do my best to respond ! Please don’t leave negative comments, I am only trying to share my experience and hope this can save other pets lives . Having a pet is a great responsibility but there are times when unexpected things happen and we may not alway be prepared for them. As with any home remedies please ** TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK**. I am suggesting what worked for my pet but can not guarantee it will work for every pet.

INGREDIENTS :
“Charco Caps ” Activated charco 520mg NO OTHER INGREDIENTS
“Pedialyte ” or Generic one works as well MUST INCLUDE ZINC
” Pepto Bismol” or generic one USE ONLY IF THERE IS DIARRHEA
“An Empty 20 oz Bottle”
“A syringe ” Can be acquired for free at your local pharmacy
How to prepare :
Oreo is about 17 lbs so One cap in the mixture was enough. For larger Dogs over 20 lbs i suggest 2 caps in mixture .
I cup of water the rest Filled with pedilyte in 20 oz bottle .
Add 1 capsule or 2 for larger dogs … Make sure to break the capsule and pour in contents BE CAREFUL it’s a powdery MESS ! You can just dump in the cap but takes time to de solve in liquid.
** “Optional ” If dog has diarrhea add 1 teaspoon to the mixture.**
After all placed in bottle , close tightly and mix vigorously until solution is completely blended together. The liquid will become a dark solution.
How to administer :
Take 2 5ML syringe fulls and administer directly in pets mouth . If pet is refusing to drink solution or not opening it’s mouth aim for the very back row of teeth. There you will find a gap, place syringe in there and administer solution. Be Gentle ! Your pet may choke if you administer the solution too quickly. Some pets will only be able to handle one syringe full or “1 Teaspoon “. That is completely fine as long as it can consume some of it. With Oreo i administered the solution every ” 15 min for 4 hrs ” once vomiting reduced every 30 min. When vomiting stopped i switched to 2 syringe full every 4 hrs . MAKE SURE to shake solution every time you will administer to make sure it gets an even dose.
Once it recovers start feeding it light foods . I would suggest boiled rice in some broth or even in the rice water. Make sure the rice is soft and large in size. Feed a small amount at a time DO NOT overfeed ! Mix some baby food for more nutrition. I suggest “Chicken or Beef , Turkey ” Baby food. Mix it in with the rice soup and feed to your pet. One the pet is going to the restroom normally and NOT watery you can slowly move to it’s favorite pet food. Start with the soft can food and slowly mix in the dry food.
Oreo was pretty much up and running in two days ! Today Saturday May 4th same day i took the video of him running and playing he is fully recovered. As i said in the video even his vet was shocked by his full recovery ! I hope this helps and please feel free to ask questions !
*** IMPORTANT PLEASE READ ***
Parvo is highly contagious and can remain dormant in objects, floors and even your lawn for months even years. It can very easily infect another pet it comes in contact with. Make sure after your pet recovers, to throw away all objects your sick pet came in contact with. Disinfect all floors and lawn . You may use a household cleaner such as bleach to clean the areas in order to kill the remaining virus.
