Painting Fire – Painting Plastic for 18 Inch Dolls – Charcoal Grill Briquettes Tutorial

At Lee & Pearl™, we love turning inexpensive plastic toys into doll-scale treasures with a little paint and a lot of creativity — and we love showing you how to do it too.

We recently purchased the Our Generation® Barn Dance & BBQ Accessory Set from Target®. The table top grill in the set is wonderful — but the charcoal fire molded into the bottom of the grill could use a better paint job. So we gave it one!

In this video, we’ve broken down the process into a few easy steps with easily available materials, and we show you each step as we do it. Follow this video and you will learn the paint colors and layering techniques to use to create realistic glowing charcoal briquettes for your 18″ dolls’ next barbecue.
