This is a tutorial showing you how to make a ship in a bottle. And this project comes with a theme. It is a scene from the Odyssey.
Odysseus is tied to the mast of his ship and he is listening to the song of the sirens.
Fun little project and in this video I show you several different techniques for making a ship in a bottle including raising the sails with strings, adding hinged parts that you can raise after installation and adding more parts to the ship once it is in place.
I also give you a short look at how I sculpted Odysseus and the Sirens using a two part epoxy resin. This is a common technique for sculpting miniature figures.
