This is my entry to summer’s woodworking 2015 2×4 challenge. I made a floating shelf with a hidden compartment.
The hinges I found at Home Depot :5/8 in. x 3 in. Non-Mortise Concealed Spring Hinge. The magnetic locks are just plain old child safety cabinet magnetic locks. I found them at Walmart. The hinges are about 6 dollars each and the locks, I paid 20 dollars for 4.
