Vacuum metallization is a multi-layer coating consisting of a deposit of aluminum between two applications of varnish.
The aluminum deposit is done in a vacuum, in Kolzer plants specially designed for this purpose. The base and finishing varnishes are spray applied on the varnishing line.
They may be thermally polymerized (“PU” varnish”) or UV hardened (“UV” varnish).
