Hi all! Today I thought I would do something a bit different and try out brush lettering with heat embossing. I first watercolored the background onto some Saunders cold press watercolor paper. Then I removed the cap on my Ranger Emboss It Dabber and poured a tiny amount of the thick ink into a well of a paint palette. I diluted it with a bit of water to get a thinner consistency and then used it like a paint to write “Merry Christmas” on the card. The diluted embossing ink worked beautifully! I sprinkled on some silver embossing powder and heat set it.
Then I stamped the snowflakes from the Christmas Cheer stamp set from Avery Elle and Simon Says Stamp (it is one of the Stamptember exclusive stamp sets) in VersaMark ink and added more silver embossing powder. A quick zap from my heat tool melted the embossing powder.
Anyhow, I hope you enjoy today’s video! I think if I recreated this card, I might choose a smooth watercolor paper like hot press watercolor paper, or even Strathmore Bristol Paper. I think the “Merry Christmas” would show up more in that case.
