THE StarOne Group is challenging packaging
norms with the introduction of its latest Drop-
Top dispensing technology for plastic and glass
containers, as well as its Drop-Top can technology
for aluminium beverage cans.
The patented Drop-Top dispensing closure
features an internal multi-cavity design that can store
up to three separate doses of ingredients. Liquids,
powders, gases, granules or tablets can be isolated
from air and liquid until use.
Developed to improve the shelf life of products that
are unstable in aqueous solutions, its design allows for
the airtight storage of sensitive products that cannot
have contact with the environment or other ingredients
until the closure is activated.
The Drop-Top is activated by turning the top 360º,
which cuts a seal inside the chambers – releasing
ingredients into the primary container, allowing the
contents to be mixed at time of use. The closure is
available with one to three chambers, where one or
multiple ingredients may be stored.
A double-chamber model has two separate chambers;
and the contents in each chamber remain isolated until
activation.
This modern, low-cost device brings new differentiation
to packaging. The Drop-Top technology is the most
important innovation in beverage, food, personal care,
pharmaceutical and chemical packaging technology
since the invention of plastic closures.
Fresh from the first sip, The Drop-Top mechanism
stores time- and liquidsensitive vitamin supplements in
a dry state avoiding contact with the beverage until it is
opened.
The mixing process allows for a fun experience, and
provides a fresh way for consumers to enjoy
immune-boosting supplements in an effervescent
beverage.
Sensitive substances, such as vitamins, begin to
degrade and lose potency when mixed with liquid.
With the Drop-Top technology StarOne is providing
a solution for packaging such sensitive products.’
The Drop-Top designs offer real gains in the reduction
of operator and user error, storage and stability with
extended shelf life, security proof features
and reduced contamination profiles.
The clear and significant advantages to the beverage,
food, personal care, pharmaceutical and chemical
industries, in terms of governance and safety are
potentially enormous.
The StarOne group has ventures in North America,
Europe, Asia and South America and have 14 different
devices patterned in more than 40 countries throughout
the world.
