3 Simple PVC Football Field Goal DIY Décor
So what is the most widely recognized football symbol in the United States? The field goal post of course. With football season in full swing I wanted to create some décor that any man or woman would be happy to display. These awesome field goals will make great conversations pieces at work and home.
So in this video, I will show you how to make 3 simple and yet very sturdy football goals.
We are going to be using PVC and CPVC because it is easily found at any home improvement store plus it is easy to assemble. Also as long as you do not glue the joints, you can take it apart and store it away for next year.
I will list the parts needed for all three goals in the description:
#1 Field Goal (All half-inch PVC)
6-inch pipe (x2)
4-inch pipe (x5)
2-inch pipe (x2)
1.5-inch pipe (x2)
T-fitting (x4)
Elbow 90-degree (x2)
End Caps (x6)
For the first goal, I am using all half-inch PVC and fittings. I recommend cutting and laying everything out on the table before assembly. The assembly is straight forward and should take only about a minute. Make sure to press ALL connections tightly together to prevent slippage. I do not recommend gluing the joint between the base and first vertical pole, so you can disassemble and store it away for next year. If you want a larger field goal you can always change the length of the pipes to make them fit to your table or area.
#2 Field Goal (All half-inch PVC)
6-inch pipe (x2)
4-inch pipe (x1)
2-inch pipe (x2)
1-inch pipe (x7)
T-fitting (x2)
Elbow 90-degree (x4)
Elbow 45-degree (x4)
End Caps (x2)
For the second goal, I redesigned the base on the first field goal. This goal is great for smaller tables and shelves where space is limited. The assembly is fast and easy.
#3 Field Goal (All half-inch CPVC)
4-inch pipe (x2)
2-inch pipe (x5)
1-inch pipe (x4)
T-fitting (x4)
Elbow 90-degree (x2)
End Caps (x6)
The third field goal is almost half the size of the first goal and has the same shape and appearance. You assemble it together the same way as the first goal.
This field goal will make a great addition to any paper football game. Once you set up the goal, there will be zero arguments about someone cheating.
No matter which goal you choose to make, it is almost guaranteed to be a topic of conversation to any football fan.
Have fun building!
Just remember that PVC is only a form of hard plastic. It can and will break if too much weight or force is applied and injuries can occur. Please use caution when using anything made from PVC.
